Alvin Bonell Coleman 61 died on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Merit Central Hospital in Jackson, MS. Alvin was nicknamed ''Nell'', but was affectionately known as ''Stone" born to Dorothy and the late James Coleman on September 3rd, 1958 in Egremont, MS. He confessed Christ in 1972 at New Baptist M.B. Church under Rev. C.B. Smith. Later, he moved his membership to Mt. Ollie M.B. Church where he sang in the choir. The angels came and escorted him home on January 28th, 2020, from Jackson, MS. Those who knew Nell well knew his quiet sprit, sincerity of life, joy of family, generosity, humility, humor, and his dedication to work and responsibilities. He was a true outdoorsmen with a passion for hunting, fishing and gardening. He embraced every challenge and opportunity that he encountered.

While employed at Nucor Steel (formerly Birmingham Steel), Nell started at the ground floor and through dedication, deligence, and discipline, he moved up to the position of Shear Operator.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue Ann and their children Thishonna (Morgan) Clark and Shawn Eric Coleman. His daughter Rockell (Anthony Sr) and his step-son Antonio McCoy; his grandchildren, Cadence and Easton Clark; KeAndrea Jones, Jahara, Tristant, Anthony Jr, and Ashtant Ferguson; His Mother Dorothy Coleman, His brothers: Willie Coleman, James (Penny), Danny (Marilyn), Glen (Jennifer), Donald (Betty) Coleman and Samuel (Florence) Andrews. His sisters Linda (Oneal) Moffett, Helen Thomas, Velma (Doug) Shipley, Lesia Coleman (Preston) Linzy; And a host of nices, nephews and cousins

Nell once said, during a collection of words of wisdom to pass on to the next generation, "Keep your head held high, get a good education, aim for the moon, you might land among the stars'' (2009)

Services will be held on Saturday,  February 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Lula M.B. Church in Rolling Fork, MS. Viewing will began from 12: noon until funeral time. Burial ill be held at Mt. Ollie Church Cemetery in Egremont, MS. Pastor Willie Dorsey will officiate the service.
