Annie Jones Harris was born to Altee Merrill and Billy Edward Jones on August 28, 1943 in Mayersville, Mississippi. Annie was an avid church going child and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal Savior at an early age while in Mayersville. Annie's migration to Chicago, Illinois was because of a job opportunity. She was offered a position at Sweetheart Cup Company, where she worked there over 30 years.

Annie joined in the union of marriage to Alex Harris, whom she was with until his last breath.

Annie was an amazing cook, where her specialties were soul food and pecan pies. She enjoyed cleaning her home, caring for her family and attending church. She served as an Usher for many years before becoming a member of the Motherboard at New Bethel Church, under the leadership of Pastor Obadiah Hall.

Annie had an awesome sense of humor and always lit up the room with her presence. Her guidance, wisdom, and courage remain unmatched. She had a soft spot for her grandchildren, family, friends and would do anything for them. Her heart was gold and to know her was to love her.

She answered the call of God on October 8, 2021, in the comfort of her daughter's home. Annie Harris completed her life on earth, and now she is joined with the ones that preceded her: her father and mother, Billy E. Jones and Altee Jennings, her husband Alex Harris, her son Marcus Jones, grandson Thomas Collins Jr. and her four brothers: Freddie Jones, Robert Jennings, Michael Jennings and Willie Jennings.

She leaves behind her most cherished possessions: three daughters; Jacqueline Martin (Mark), Janice Jones (Ade Taiwo) and Quintina Dockery (Keith); five sisters, Dorothy Palmer, Geraldine Carlisle (Melvin), Brenda Jennings, and Janet Robinson (Arthur); three brothers: Richard Jones, Johnny Jones (Patricia) and Reginald Jennings; eight grandchildren, Rosalyn Mitchell, Krystle Jones, Reginald and Renee Buchanan, Araiel Houston (Howard), Quinten Bradley, Quwan Davis (Chrishon), and Jaquan Dailey; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
