Obituary

Services for Barbara Jean Clark will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh M.B. Church in Rolling For, Ms. She died March 13, 2020 at Merit Central Hospital in Jackson, MS. Barbara's body will repose from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church on Saturday. Burial will be held in the Cary Community Cemetery in Cary, MS. Pastor Willie Dorsey will officiate the services.

Barbara Jean was born on November 7, 1950 to the late Josie and Emmich Clark in Onward, MS. She was the oldest of six children and enjoyed playing the big sister role. During her childhood years was a mischief maker.

Barbara confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Hope M.B. Church in Blanton, MS. She later joined Green Chaple M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Carlton Earl. She has always had a love for the Lord and valued the principles and teachings of the Holy Word. She graduated from Henry Weathers High School in 1969. After graduation she relocated to Chicago, IL where she worked for Zenith.

Later in life, she returned home and was employed by Fruit of The Loom. After the closure of Fruit of The Loom, she started working at Heritage Manor and was dedicated employee until her illness prevented her from working.

Barbara' hobby's was reading books and enjoying conversation with family and friends. Her favorite books were mystery and science fiction. Anyone that knew her knew to bring her a book for any occasion. She enjoyed staying in touch with everyone and being current of all situations.

God quietly called Barbara home. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Josie Clark and father, Emmich Clark.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Deborah (Jeffrey) McEleveen of Houston, TX; two sons, Torrence (Rashida) Banks of Nashville, TN, and Derrick (Valarie) Clark of Vicksburg, MS. Seven grandchildren, two brothers; Emmich (Barbara) Clark and David Clark; three sisters; Sharon (L.W.) Staten, Sandra Taylor and Karen (Fredrick) Barnes; aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, in-laws and friends.

Eight other siblings; Barbara, Margaret, Christy, James, Jim and Emmich Anderson. Joyce (Ernest) Griffie, Brenda (Donnie) Jackson.
