Mr. Bobby Davis Sr., was born March 14, 1950 in Anguilla, Mississippi to Pearlie Mae Davis and to the late Columbus Davis.
At an early age Bobby, known as "Son" and "Shep Davis" grew to learn about the goodness of the Lord, thereby confessing faith in Christ and uniting in fellowship with the Union Chapel M.B. Church Family in Anguilla, MS, under the leadership of Rev. C.D. Dixon. It is there he lived out his life serving faithfully as a member and an usher. Son has always been a hard worker, family oriented, humorous, and loving father. Son was employed with both Fields Farm for more than 10 years and Martin Farms for over 5 years until his health failed. In March 2014, Son relocated to Greenville, Mississippi at Legacy Manor Nursing Care and in September 2016, he relocated to Royse City, Texas at Royse City Medical Lodge.
Our beloved father, Bobby Davis Sr., departed his earthly life on Monday, August 4, 2020 at Royse City Medical Lodge, Royse City, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Lee Davis, father, Columbus Davis, and three sisters: Clementine Evans, Aretha Jones, and Rosie Hurt. Son leaves to cherish his memories: six children: Melanie Smith and Stephanie (Tony) Dunn of Chicago, Illinois, Cynthia (Patrick) Perry of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kecedria (David) Webb and Chasity (Kevin) Jackson of Royse City, Texas. One son: Bobby (Victoria) Davis Jr., of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, a loving Mother: Pearlie Mae Davis of Anguilla, Mississippi. Two sisters: Barbara (Willie) Thomas of Country Club Hill, Illinois, and Maggie Davis of Anguilla, Mississippi. One brother: Tom (Ann) Davis of Anguilla, Mississippi. Three aunts: Annie H. Davis of Chicago, Illinois, Mary D. Crawford and Annie Woods both of Cleveland, Ohio. One uncle: Samuel Davis of Chicago, Illinois, one foster son, Lazerritt (Kathleen) Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana, 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Son will be greatly and truly missed by all whose lives he has touched. His faith and his strength were an inspiration to his family and friends.
