On Sunday, February18, 2024, a chariot swung low to carry Charles E. "Sleepy" Jackson.

Charles was born on December 3, 1957 in Tchula, MS to Willie and Mary Cooper Jackson. He was the 6th of 12 children born to his family. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Lee "Sister" (Cooper) Jackson; Father, Willie "Jake" Jackson, Son, Shaundericka LaCharles Donell Smith; Brothers, Curley Cooper, Eugene Jackson and McArther Jackson.

Charles accepted Christ at an early age at Jerusalem M.B. Church of Tchula, MS. He spent much of his adult life in Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI where he worked as a mechanic. Charles was known for his mild personality, love for people, and having a good time with a welcoming smile that easily turned into hardy laughter.

Charles E. "Sleepy" Jackson leaves a legacy of hope, love and peace for his family. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Virginia Jackson & a Special Friend Trice of Milwaukee, WI; four (4) sisters: Daisy Jackson of Jackson, MS; Estella (Earnest) Pate of Flora, MS; Mary L. Montgomery of Cahokia, IL; Laura Jackson of Greenville, MS; Four (4) brothers Willie (Carolyn) Jackson of Atlanta, GA; Terry Jackson of Milwaukee WI; Davis (Frances) Jackson of Tuscaloosa, AL and Willie Jackson III of Baton Rouge, LA and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends.
