Earnestine Dean was born on May 19, 1942, in St. Charles, Louisiana; God blessed the late Margaret and Willie Bailey with their first born, Earnestine. God graced the world with a beautiful servant only He could create. This servant was given the name Earnestine. She confessed her belief in Christ at an early age. She served at Christ Missionary Baptist Church for many years as an Usher and was the Mistress of ceremony for all church events. She loved her church and God's people.

As stated in Proverbs 30: 26, 28, 30-31 "She spoke with wisdom; and faithful instruction was on her tongue. Her children called her blessed [as] a woman who feared the LORD [she] is praised. We Honor her for all that her hands have done. She exemplified what King Solomon described as a virtuous woman.

Earnestine's love for God was truly evident in her Christian walk as she allowed His love to lead her life. She cared deeply for her family, church, and friends.

Earnestine was educated in Glen Allan, Mississippi. She moved to California at the age of 18 with her late husband Sam Dean Sr., where they raised their family. She managed her household, carefully balancing a large family, rearing of her children and others whose life she touched. Later in life, she worked as a nurse's assistant, home care provider and for the San Francisco School District.

Earnestine is proceeded in death by her husband Sam Dean Sr., her father Willie Bailey Sr., mother Margaret Thomas Bailey, sisters, Ruth Mae Parham, Queen Ester James, Sarah Mae Bailey Lee and two sons, Sam Dean Jr., and John Michael Dean.

Earnestine, is survived by her thirteen siblings. Her five brothers in birth order are as follows: Willie Bailey, Jr. (Rosie Mae), Rev. Hezekiah Bailey of Jackson, Ms., Rev. Samuel Lee Bailey (Linda), and Kelvin Bailey of Glen Allan, Ms., and Reginald Bailey (Loretta) of Greenville, Ms. Her ten sisters in birth order are as follows: Willie Mae Brackett of Los Angeles, Ca., Inez Sirles (Charles) of Suisun City, Ca., Ethel Bailey Scott of Glen Allan, Ms., Vera Bailey of Rolling Fork, Ms., Anne Bailey Walker (Eldridge "Butch') of Rolling Fork, Ms., Sylvia Bailey of Glen Allan, Ms., Helen Bailey-Harney (Phillip) of Nashville Tn, and Retha Bell (Sean) of Memphis, Tn.

Earnestine departed this earthly life on Monday, July 25, 2022, on her late husband's birthday. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, Frank, Geraldine, Elmira, Dolores Chambers Ball (RonnieRay), Vera Morrow (Gerard), Sandra, Tunisisa Bonney and Sophia Dean Johnson, her daughter-in laws Pamela Sue, Lorilei and Bobby Johnson her loving partner. Seven grandchildren: Jamaal McDowell, Reuben Dean, Crystal McDowell, Andrea Animashaun (Kehinde), Justin Morrow and Tyler Bonney.

Ten Great-grands: Nia Jackson, Lauryn Dean, Janiye Morrow, Kaj Morrow, Ar Razzaq Animashaun, Jador Morrow, Justin Jr. Morrow, Arianna Hurtado, Zaila Animashaun, Jason Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members and friends.

Earnestine who we affectionately called Our Matriarch, Our Queen of Sheba, FOREVER 29, Granny Goose, Snuggles , My Boo, Chaka Khan and "always" Momma Dean... She will be remembered for her Favorite Phrases: "Life is an Uphill Journey and a Downhill Fall." "I think I'll make it." "Every Dog has it's day, and a good Dog has two." "If walls could talk, they would hold a great premonition." and "I'll be dipped in hot sauce." Favorite Scripture: Psalms 23. Favorite Songs: When You Hear of My Homegoing and I'm Going Up Yonder.

She was a dedicated mother, a cultivator and nurturer to all who passed her way. Her life symbolized her spiritual conviction, which she shared freely with all she encountered. Earnestine will be remembered for her strength and moral virtue (Truly A Phenomenal Woman). She loved her children, adored her grands, great-grands and those that considered her their mother and friend.

Her presence will be deeply missed by those she touched with her love and kindness. She loved, reading her bible, fishnet hosiery, big hats, gaming, and online shopping. She will be missed, never forgotten and always in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
