Ethel Lesure-
Harris
Nov 22, 1952 — Apr 20, 2023
Greenville
Our dear Momma, Ethel "Kitty" Lesure-Harris, passed away April 20, 2023, in Greenville, MS. Kitty was fearfully, wonderfully, and beautifully made by GOD ALMIGHTY! Her walk and her worship was demonstrated daily through her actions.
Kitty was born November 22, 1952, in Leland, MS to the late Walter Halums, Sr, and Pearline Williams. She attended Glen Allan High School in Glen Allan, MS and believed in the the power of education. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS on May 8, 2010, and earned her Master of Science from MS Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS on May 11, 2013. Momma received a second Masters in Special Education and was working on a third Masters. She accomplished great things in life from managing multiple businesses to performing community outreach. However, her greatest attributes were exhibiting a humble, meek and mild spirit.
Momma had an immense love for her family and friends. She was gentle and had a unique way of making everyone feel special and loved. Momma was quiet about her preparation to glory because she knew, as she frequently said, "I am alright" and she was right.. her exit was swift and sweet. She didn't need to say goodbye because she will see us later.
Kitty is preceded in death by her siblings: Rosa Lee Watson, Josephine Bonney-Russell and Walter Halums, Jr. She is survived by three children: Sherman (Carmilla) Kinder of Memphis, TN, Edwin LeSure of Greenville, MS and Chasity LeSure of Birmingham, AL; one brother, Dennis (Esther) Lee of Saginaw, MI; Niece/Caregiver Elizabeth (Kenny) Smith of Greenville, MS; God-Daughter/Caregiver Jenelle (Rod) Dugan of Waxahachie, TX; three grandsons: Jacob Kinder and Legendary Kinder of Adrian, MI, Edwin LeSure, Jr. of Katy, TX, one granddaughter: ArDranaye Ky'Mia Hunter of Greenville, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and six Special Friends.
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39.
