Graveside services for Mr. General McArthur Lewis, 73, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020, at St. John Palmetto Cemetery in Valewood Community, MS. Pastor Frank Hall will be officiating.

General McArthur "Mac" Lewis was born February 14, 1947, in Percy, Mississippi, to the late Elige and Josephine Clay Lewis. He was also preceded in death by brothers (Jessie Richmond and Cornelius Lewis) and sisters (Ida Demetria Lewis, Veronica Faye Lewis, Floretha Richmond
and Janie Carol Lewis). He departed this life, October 21, 2020 at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville, MS. McArthur accepted Christ in his early thirties and was baptized, and later recommitted his life to Christ in saying the prayer of repentance.

In 1967, he graduated from Glen Allan High School, and in 1971, received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wilberforce University, Wilberforce, Ohio. On May 8, 1972, he married Delores Lewis; and although life eventually led them to different paths, they maintained a life-long friendship and raised their four children together, Mac, Michael, Moansenee, and Matthew. McArthur, (Mac as he was affectionately known) was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had a passion for work and business so much so that he had his own truck driving business. He eventually came back  to his first love which was the Valewood community. He farmed his family land in Valewood for the rest of his days with a cheerful and grateful heart.

His presence will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughters, Moansenee (Brandon) Conyers of Augusta, GA, Forlesia Willis of Denver, CO; four sons Mac A. Lewis of Bainbridge, GA, Dr. Michael R. Lewis of Dothan, AL, Matthew J. Lewis of Greenville, MS, Marvin Willis of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters, Gene Autry (Willie) Bell of Jackson, MS; Josephine "Jo" ( Clarence) Thompson of Greenville, MS; Fannie (Willie) Sullivan of Greenville, MS; one brother: Rev. Elijah (Charlene) Lewis, Jr. of Glen Allan, MS; five grandchildren, Jordan R. Lewis of Bainbridge GA, Beau Conyers and Brandt Conyers of Augusta, GA, Kelecia Bunton of Huntsville, AL, Marvin B. "Jay" (Terika) Willis Jr of Oahu, Hawaii; four great-grandchildren, Jayden, Nyomi, Noah, and Eden; one uncle, Eddie Lewis of Milwaukee, WI; two aunts: Narcissia Lewis Loving of Chicago, IL., and Dorothy Lumpkin of Chicago, IL.; a god sister, Theresia (Larry) Collins of Cleveland, OH. He is also survived and will be greatly missed by nine devoted nieces and nine nephews, a host of cousins, in-laws, extended family, friends, and neighbors.
