Gloria O'Neal Jones was born September 5, 1961 in Myersville, Ms. to the late Juanita O'Neal Mallet and Willie Smith Jr. She was the baby girl of five siblings. During her younger years, she received an education through the Rolling Fork School District before moving to Kankakee, Illinois in 1976 were she graduated from West View High School. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and committed to serving him at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Obadiah Hall and First Lady Elizabeth Hall. On November 24,1981 she gave birth to a baby girl whom she named Kyrenia O'Neal and soon after on July 7th, 1987 a baby boy whom she named Percy (PJ) Jones Jr. Years later, on March 26, 1995 she became a devoted wife to the late Percy Jones Sr.

Throughout the years Gloria was the face for her community. She served as an apartment manager for Southern Management in which she helped people by guiding them in the right direction as a mentor and a compassionate leader to those in need. She was a faithful and humble servant to her community as well as her church where she became a Deaconess. She was blessed with four grandchildren and five bonus grandchildren as well as host of nieces and nephews.

On Thursday July 2, 2026 at approximately 2:05 p.m. Gloria was called home by her Lord and Savior whom she served faithfully.

She is proceeded in death by her mother Juantia O'Neal Mallet and father Willie Smith Jr., her daughter Kyrenia O'Neal, her son Percy (PJ Jones Jr., her husband Percy Jones, Sr.; brothers Clarence O'Neal and Carl O'Neal, and a sister Carol O'Neal.

She is survived by her brothers Dwight O'Neal (Cindi O'Neal) and Cordell O'Neal of Kankakee, Illinois; sister Mary O'Neal of Myersville, Ms.; a devoted son-in-law/ son Garrick Bailey (Talmechia Bailey) of Byram, Ms.; Goddaughter Donneisha Johnson of Kankakee, Illinois

Four grandchildren Aiyana Bailey, A'Nylah Bailey, Aydin Bailey, Zariah Jones of Byram, Ms; Five bonus grandchildren Garrick Bailey Jr. Quiyatta Bailey of Canton, Ms.; Joseph Cable, Abigale Griffin and Gabrielle Griffin of Brandon, Ms. and a host of nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephew and friends.
