Graveside services for Jim McNeal, 76, will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Green Chapel Cemetery in Rolling Fork, MS. Special viewing will be held Friday, Feb. 12, from 5 p.m.- 6 p.m. in Adele Walker Memorial Chapel at the funeral home.

Jim McNeal, Sr. was born December 20, 1944 to the union of Adam and Luella McNeal. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Jim attended and graduated from Henry Weathers High School where he met his wife and partner for life Edna Stewart. They were united in matrimony July 1964. Shortly thereafter, Jim was drafted into the military service to the United States Army where he served until his honorable discharge in 1968.

Jim was employed as an over the road truck driver for many years. He enjoyed traveling across the country. He would often share what he had seen driving through the 48 continental states. Jim enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his family, and socializing with his friends.
Jim had a strong faith in God. One of his crowning achievements was becoming a member and later a deacon of Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Carlton Earls. He remained faithful in his role as deacon until he moved to Litchfield Park, Arizona. After moving to Arizona, Jim and Edna became active members of Mount Cavalry Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Freddie Brown. There, Jim continued his role as deacon.

Jim was preceded in death by his father Adam McNeal, Sr., his mother Luella McNeal, his sister Johnnie B. Flood, and brother Adam McNeal, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 56 years, Edna McNeal; his eight children: Jim McNeal, Jr., Glenn (Ruth) McNeal, Marva (Jerry) Tolbert, Wanda McNeal, Craig (Cliviania) McNeal, Jimmel Martinez, Trisha (Steven) Moore, and Micheal (Keniqua) McNeal; his siblings: Mary (Elgin) Willis, Eva Evans, Sam (Diane) Pope, Annie Mae Franklin, Linda Barnes, June (James) Caldwell, and David (La Edna) McNeal; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
