Graveside services for Joseph Anderson, 67, will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Green Chapel Church Cemetery in Rolling Fork. Pastor Otis Anderson will be officiating.
Joseph was born on October 14, 1952 to the late Willie Mae Anderson and Marcus Chambers in Rolling Fork, MS. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a man of faith, a tower of strength to others even in the midst of his own pain.
He was a member of Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher. Joseph attended Henry Weathers High School.
To all who knew and loved him he was our Joe. He was generous, kindhearted and loving. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved his family. Joseph touched and shaped the lives of many while he was upon this earth. His children and grandchildren were his greatest source of pride and joy. His love was unconditional and boundless.
On August 25, 2020, having his affairs set in order, he welcomed the exchange of mortality for immortality. Joseph leaves a legacy of faith, tenacity, and perseverance. He is preceded in death by his parents Willie Mae Anderson and Marcus Chambers, two brothers Emmich Anderson and Marcus Chambers.
His memory will live forever in the hearts and minds of his loving and devoted wife Deborah F. Anderson; four brothers: Otis (Joann) Anderson, James Anderson, Jim Anderson all of Rolling Fork, MS; Ronald (Donna) Anderson of Anguilla, MS; eight sisters: Barbie Anderson, Margaret Anderson, Lisa (OT) Devine all of Rolling Fork, MS; Brenda (Donnie) Jackson of Anguilla, MS; Joyce (Ernest) Griffie and Christie Anderson both of Hopkinsville, KY; Aretha (Graylon) Jones, Chicago, IL; and Yvonne Norman of Lorman, MS; three daughters; Tomeka (Morris) James of Southaven, MS; Victoria Charles of Jackson, MS; Kendrea (Keiane) Magee of Hattiesburg, MS; six sons, Timothy (Kim) Carter of Houston, TX; Jessie (Robin) Merrill and Jerald (Alicia) Merrill both of Wylie, TX; Jonathan Carter of Horn Lake, MS; Joseph Carter of Rolling Fork, MS; Calvin Tolliver of Gulfport, MS; seventeen grandchildren, two great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
