Katie Lee Rowland was born on February 9, 1943, to the late Alwilda and James Armstrong.

On Jan 18, 2025, Katie entered into eternal rest and traded her earthly home for a home, not made by man's hands. She was also a long-time member of New Hope Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rowland; four sons: Willie Armstrong, Lee Dale Armstrong, Cornelius Armstrong and Barney Armstrong; two daughters, Ora Lee Scott and Margaret Buckner; four brothers: James Armstrong Jr., Eddie Armstrong, Willie J. Armstrong and Eugene Armstrong; two sisters, Lillian Hove and Ida Mae Hall; and one granddaughter, Paris Buckner.

Katie leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Debra Phenix (Joe); two sisters, Alice Williams and Rosa Lee Hall; four grandsons: Christopher Booker, Jr., Herman Scott, Cletrice Armstrong and Darrell Armstrong; five granddaughters: Shalonda Dixon, Lysha Dixon, Gloria Booker, Crystal Phenix and Camia Dixon; 11 grandkids; a special son-in-law, Christopher Booker, Sr.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
