Funeral services for Maggie Williams, 102, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19 at Shiloh MB Church in Rolling Fork. Rev. Dr. Reginald Anderson will be officiating. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Rolling Fork.

Mrs. Maggie Williams was a loving, devoted wife and mother. She was devoted to God and was a dedicated member to her home church, Salem Baptist Church in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, where she served as an usher from the age of 8 years old and later as the president of the usher board until the age of 94 until she moved to Jackson, MS to live with her daughter. As an usher, she took the ultimate pride in her appearance. Her uniform was always clean, pressed and lily white. She expected "her" ushers to mirror that same pride. She loved children and served as a caregiver, mother and grandmother to many children in neighborhood. They would often knock on her door and ask for snacks from what was affectionately known as "the goodie box." She was a mentor to many as well as to any and everyone who needed sound advice. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her garden and she was an excellent cook. In her youth, she was an excellent basketball player, and as an adult, you could find her glued to the television watching those Chicago Bulls. She also loved music, which was passed down to her children. At home you would often hear her singing her favorite song, "This Little Light of Mine" and many other hymns. At the end of each day, before retiring for the night, she would ask God to forgive her if her body was too tired to pray on her knees. Then she would climb into bed, say her prayers and exclaim with grace and reverence, "Thank you Jesus.... This is the best place I've been all day!"

On June 15, 2021 at 8:51 a.m., Mrs. Maggie Williams left her earthly home and transitioned to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Davis; sons: Milton Bernard, Charles Beard, and Clanater Williams; sisters, Sadie and Alice; and brothers, Nig and Milton.
She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy, five children: Willie Benard, Billy Williams, (Wilma) Maggie Moses, James Williams, (Brenda) Sadie Fulgham; nieces: Lanell, Mary Alice, Patricia; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
