Martha Jean (Doll) Jackson was born on September 5, 1957, in Arcola, Mississippi, to the late Mary and Colee Jackson Sr.

She attended public school in Arcola, MS. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ at St. James M.B. Church in Arcola. She later joined Mt. Buria M.B. Church in Cary, MS; where she faithfully served, until she transitioned from this earthly life, on September 11, 2026, leaving behind a loving family and many cherished memories.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Colee Jackson Sr., husband Henry Jackson, and brothers Colee Jackson Jr, Alfred Jackson Sr, and Jonathan Jackson, whose memories she carried with her throughout her life. While their absence was felt, she often spoke of them with warmth and gratitude, holding close the lessons and love they shared.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the proud mother of four children: Charles (Kamisa) Lindsey Jr. of Olive Branch, MS; Anthony Lindsey of Pine Bluff, AR; Antonio (Latoya) Lindsey of Cordova, TN; and Travis Jackson of Batesville, MS.

One of Martha’s greatest joys was being a grandmother. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Her children and grandchildren were an important part of her life, and the love and memories they shared with her will forever remain in their hearts.

Martha also leaves to cherish her precious memory her five sisters: Bertha Carter, Sentha Bullock, and Sallie Burden, all of Rolling Fork, MS; Gloria Green of Cahokia, IL; and Cynthia (Terrace) McCray of Meridian, MS; four brothers: Freddie (Willie Mae) Jackson and Robert (Rosie) Jackson Sr., both of Rolling Fork, MS; Glenn (Sharelle) Jackson of Yazoo City, MS; and Willie (Floydia) Jackson of Southaven, MS; two aunts, Charity Williams and SerillaTwillie; and friend, Gentry Redmond.

Martha will be remembered for the love she had for her family, her faith in God, and the special memories she created with those who knew and loved her. Although her earthly journey has ended, her love and legacy will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and friends.
