Mary Alice Smith (75) was born in Egremont, MS on February 2, 1947 to Rosie Lee Steward and Charlie Steward. Mary Alice gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was an active member at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She attended Henry Weathers School.

Mary Alice had this magical touch when it came to growing her plants. Her favorite color was royal blue. She loved to stay home and babysit all of the kids. She used to always say, "Just have a baby and give it to me!" One of her other favorite things to do was cook for her children and family whenever they visited. She attended church faithfully and would finish the evening off watching old classic tv shows or sitting on the couch looking out of the window.

Mary Alice departed this life on earth Monday August 1, 2022 at the age of 75. She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Denis Thompson (Corliss), Bernadette Smith, Alexis Smith (Latarsha), 23 grandchildren, 2 bonus grands – Mi'Nia and Ashlon, many great-grandchildren, siblings: William Steward, Rosie Steward, Lebertha Davis, and Linda Steward, special daughters/nieces Mary "Tiny" Steward and Latasha Mason, and host of other loving family and friends. She was predeceased by Mother Rosie Lee Steward, Father Charlie Steward, son Charlie Smith (Dajuana), and siblings Barbara Washington, Lillie Ransom, Herman Moore, and Otis Williams.
