Percy Lee Chocolate Sr. was born September 19,1931.

He accepted Christ and was baptized in his later years, where he became a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and served on the usher board under the leadership of Rev. Leroy Wilson.

Percy was born in Fitler, MS to his late parents, mother, Patsy Barnum and father, William Chocolate Sr., his Biological father, Charlie Alexander.

He was married to his beloved Dorothy Miller (Chocolate), for 61 years.

Percy was an avid hunter that kept meat in the freezers of many households all the way from Arkansas, Chicago, Vicksburg MS, Portland, Oregon, and beyond.

Percy equally enjoyed gardening where he would sit outside at night with his 22 rifles to make sure the animals did not feast on his vegetables.

Words could not express his love for the outdoors. He was a self-taught skilled mechanic and was willing to share his skills with family, friends, and others.

Percy was a hardworking man who grew up working the fields. When he was too young to hold onto a plow, his grandfather tied his hands to it so he could work from "can to can't" — from daylight until dark. That determination remained with him throughout his life.

From that foundation, he continued to work hard on the farms(plantations) mostly all his life.

His best living was "over in the back" on a rock road living in a 3-bedroom home with his family of wife and 4 children, as well as any additions at all times. That rock road was eventually named after him, " PERCY ROAD), until their displacement due to the 2019 flood, where he RELUCTANTLY became a resident of Cary, Mississippi.

Percy was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife Dorothy Chocolate, Parents; Patsy Barnum, William Chocolate and Charlie Alexander; (2) Sisters; Lizzie Coleman, Willie Mae Macon, and (6) brothers; Clarence Alexander, Tom Alexander; Luscious Thomas, William Thomas, George Thomas JR and Eric "Pete" Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memories: (1) Sister; Bertha Thomas, Rolling Fork MS, (3) daughters; Deborah Williams, Cary MS, Patricia Mason (Allen), Vicksburg, MS, Linda Chocolate-Adair (Donny), Portland OR. (3) Sons: Lee Percy Chocolate JR (Tina), Cary MS, Tommy Washington (Dorothy) Belzoni MS, Quincy Washington, Greenville, MS, . Also cherishing his memories are (22) grandchildren, (28) great grandchildren, (6) Great-Great grandchildren, adopted daughters; Lavette Lee and Thelma Norwood Barnum, and chosen sister Hattie Caldwell-Lewis.

As well as a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, In-laws, friends, family and all those that claimed him as their own!
