Rev. Larry E.
Williams
May 25, 1953 — Oct 3, 2026
Mayersville, MS
I was born on May 25, 1953 to the late Saul Williams, Sr. and the late Gracie Reynolds Williams in Clarksdale, MS and was relocated to Mayersville, MS in my youth.
I obtained my belief in Christ at an early age and became a member of the St. Peter M.B. Church of Mayersville.
I attended Fielding L. Wright School in Rolling Fork, MS. Later, I moved to Chicago, IL to live with my sister, Ruby. After my stay in Chicago, I returned back to Mayersville and then registered into the Piney Woods School.
Seeking for a better way of living, I joined the United States Army, serving for 20 years. I did most of my deployment in Germany, and was deployed in the Desert Storm Operation. While in the military, I furthered my education by receiving my AA degree at the Central Texas College in 1984, a certificate of completion in Intro to Computer Data at the Troy State University in Fort Rucker, AL in 1987.
I attended the Big Ben Community College in Moses Lake, Washington. I became a mason of the Grand Lodge #132 of the State of Oklahoma.
After returning back to the states, during one of my visits home, I saw a beautiful young lady hanging clothes and knew I needed to meet her. I soon realized that this is the lady I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. After dating for six months, we were married on April 7, 1990. Retiring in December of 1992, I returned to Mayersville to start a new life of leisure.
I united back to my home church serving as a deacon under the leadership of Pastor Obadiah Hall.
In 1996, I was ordained as a minister after being chosen by God. On December 15, 2002, I was installed as the pastor of St. Peter M. B. Church of Mayersville. Other capacities I have served in after returning home includes Chaplain of the Sharkey-Issaquena Mass Choir, I served as a Board member of the Issaquena County Federal Credit Union, worked with W&W Farms, the Williams Lawn Service, and was employed by the Issaquena County Regional Correctional Facility.
I was preceded in death by my parents, Saul Williams, Sr. and Gracie Reynolds Williams, five sisters, Fannie Mae Williams, Ruby Williams, Gracie Cooper, Deloris Williams, and Freddie McGee, five brothers, London Williams Sr., Saul Williams Sr., Dan Williams Sr., Umer Williams Sr., and Robert T. Williams, Sr.
I leave a wealth of memories to my loving wife of 36 years, Terri Williams, my son, Dominic Williams of GieBen, Germany, two grandchiidren, Heaven Williams and Isaiah Williams, both of GieBen, Germany, one brother, Johnny Williams, Sr., spiritual mother and father, Pastor Obadiah and First Lady Elizabeth Hall, five sister-in-laws, Rosie Ladd, Connie (Saul) Williams, Sherida (Frank) Stovall, Sherry Coleman, and Ruth Williams, two brother-in-laws, Darryl Marshall and James Harris, three special nieces, Brenda (Willie) Peterson, Linda (Larry) Short, and Ruby Shenell Smith, a special nephew, Robert T.
