Minister Richard Lamont Addison was born September 28, 1970 in Rolling Fork, Mississippi to the late Reverend R.C. Addison and Dianne Higgins. He accepted Christ at an early age while at the Stranger Home M. B. Church in Glen Allen, Mississippi. He was baptized by his father, Reverend Addison and later joined Union Chapel in Anguilla, Mississippi where he served as deacon. He later joined The Vineyard New Sanctuary of God under the leadership of his brother, Pastor Donald Addison. While serving as a deacon, he was called into the ministry. In 2008 he accepted his calling and entered into the gospel. In January 2015 he was ordained to preach and teach the gospel by his very own brother and leader, Pastor Donald Addison.

Richard graduated from Rolling Fork High School South Delta. He attended Moorhead Junior College and Coahoma Junior College each for a semester. On February 11, 2011 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Kenterrian Latress Hall whom he loved until his death.

Richard touched many lives and had a passion and heart for people. He loved to help and assist in any way he could. He was preceded in death by his father Rev. R. C. Addison, his paternal and maternal grandmothers, his paternal and maternal grandfathers, three brothers: Minister Zachariah Addison, R. C. Addison Jr., and Esar Addison, and one sister: Tonya Latrice Addison.

Richard will truly be missed. He leaves to cherish his memory: His loving and devoted wife of thirteen years: Kenterrian Addison; his mother: Dianne (Joseph) Higgins of Eudora, AR; stepfather: Horace Gates of Rolling Fork, MS; stepmother: Rosie Addison of Greenville, MS; one son: Mychal Lamont Newman of Memphis TN; four stepsons: Zechariah Hall of San Antonio, TX, Zaonrick Johnson Jr. of Talledega, AL, Za'Kendrick Johnson of Greenville, MS, and Douglas Edwards of GA; one granddaughter: Mallory Denise Newman of Memphis, TN; one goddaughter: Braniyah Brown of Greenville, MS; two sisters: Paula Addison of Tallulah, LA and Lisa Addison of Nashville, TN; four brothers: Pastor Donald (Monique) Addison of Greenville, MS, Kelvin Addison of Houston, TX, LaZerick Addison of Atlanta, GA, and Eddie Addison of Greenville, MS; one aunt: Linda Grayson Greenville, MS, a long time best friend and brother Antwan Cody of Nashville, TN; and three childhood friends Robert William, Roosevelt Caldwell, and Reginald Brown. He also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and in-laws.
