Green was born on November 23, 1948 in Arcola, MS to the late James and Elise Green. He was the last living of his siblings, Joseph Green, James Green Jr, Milton Green, and Fannie Green Landrum. Roy confessed his life to Jesus Christ at an early age and was a faithful worshipper to God until he transitioned from this life on April 20, 2024 in Belleville, IL.

On August 30, 1969 he married, the love of his life, Gloria Jackson Green.

Roy served over 25 years in the law enforcement community, where he later retired from the Sheriff Department and Kroger's as well.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his smile, his jokes, and the positive change he brought to the lives of those around him.

Roy was predeceased by his parents, siblings, and son Roy Frank Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Gloria Green; five daughters:

Carolyn (Lemola) Mason of Cahokia, IL; Monike Johnson of Indianola, MS; Patricia Piggs and Debra Williams both of Greenville, MS; and Tremona Jackson of Dallas, TX. Five sons: Earnest (Quesha) Harris of Rolling Fork, MS; Meekco Johnson of Greenville, MS; Edmund (Stacia) Clark of Atlanta, GA; Alex (LaTiffany) Johnson of Cahokia, IL; and Jamel Green of Peoria, IL.

He also leaves to cherish his memories a special friend Herbert Brown Sr, one uncle, Henry Wiseman, his in-laws and a host of grandchildren, great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends .
