Funeral services (no viewing) for SFC Ronald W. Anderson U.S. Army(Retired), 63, will be Saturday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at Christian Light MB Church in Anguilla, MS. Pastor Otis Anderson will be officiating. Masks are required. Burial will be held at Green Chapel Cemetery in Rolling Fork, MS. A public viewing will be held on Friday, June 18 from 4-6 p.m. in Adele Walker Memorial Chapel at the funeral home.

Ronald Wayne "Earl" Anderson was born August 22, 1957, to the late Willie Mae Anderson and Marcus Chambers, Sr. in Rolling Fork, MS. Three brothers, Joseph Anderson, Emmich Anderson and Marcus Chambers Jr. preceded him in death. He confessed faith in Jesus as a young boy and joined Mt. Olive M.B. Church, later uniting with the Christian Light M.B. Church in Anguilla, MS under the leadership of Reverend V.T. Taylor.

Ronald graduated with honors in May of 1976 from Rolling Fork High School. In August of 1976, he entered the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country for thirty-eight years. He earned many awards and commendations including: Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Army Reserve Components, Sharp Shooter Marksman Badge, Meritious Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Armed Forces Reserve Medal. He continued to mentor soldiers even after retiring May 31st, 2015.

On November 14, 1989 Ronald became the first Black Alderman elected in the Town of Anguilla. He was a member of St. John Masonic Lodge #2, a member of the Sharkey County Branch of NAACP, a former member of the Sky Social Club and the Anguilla Volunteer Fire Department.

He had passion for grilling, very slow and meticulous with his craft. Many have enjoyed the fruits of his Labor of Love. Among other past times, Ronald enjoyed spending time with the guys on the Bayou, establishing true friendship and bond of brotherhood.

He was truly loved and respected by many. We will all miss his smile, soft speech, slow walk, the love for his family and genuine care for others. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold.

Ronald made his transition on June 11, 2021. He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Donna Lovette Anderson; son, Ronald (Angela) Anderson II of Edina, MN; granddaughter, Allison Anderson and grandson, Austin Anderson of Edina, MN. Precious memories will forever linger in the hearts of his three brothers; Otis (Joann) Anderson, James Anderson and Jim Anderson of Rolling Fork, MS; eight sisters: Barbie Anderson, Margaret Anderson, Lisa (O.T.) Devine of Rolling Fork, MS, Brenda (Donnie) Jackson of Anguilla, MS, Georgia (Ernest) Griffin; Christie Anderson of Hopkinsville, KY, Yvone Norman of Lorman, MS and Aretha (Graylon) Jones of Chicago, IL; aunt, Clara Pope and uncle, Floyd "Doc" Hampton both of Rolling Fork, MS; mother-in-law, Corine Lovette of Anguilla, MS; sister-in-law, Deborah Faye Anderson of Rolling Fork, MS. Counted among his many blessings are his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and God children, Azure Higgins, Daniel Harris, Jr., Paul McKnight and Daniel "DJ" Harris.
